Trivia

And yes, my posts on non-baseball topics are indicating that Spring Training better start soon! Randomly, two trivia questions, in "honour" of Tito's rear-ending today as he called WEEI:

1. What former Sox player was Terry Francona's minor-league roommate?
2. Who was their other roommate, and who was that roommate's brother?

2. Grady Little's Brother????!!!

*dies*

It's the circle of life!

Finally, I get to do the answering. I'm thinking Brad Mills is involved here. The only Expos from the early 80s I can think of who played for the Red Sox are: Dawson, Reardon, Larry Parrish, and Bill Lee. Either Parrish or Reardon could've been in the minors with Tito, or maybe Andre. And Parrish's brother may have been Lance. Any credit for any of this babble?

Sorry, jere, I was thinking of this guy... although admittedly, it's quite possible that Parrish/Reardon were roommates at other times.

And their other roommate was, yes, Bryan "Brother of Gump" Little.

That's amazing--me and my dad had a dice rolling league in the late eighties (which we resurrected this year) where we used actual players by choosing baseball cards of guys who were horrible in real life. Both of those guys were in our league of maybe 50 players total. The guy you linked to was in a lineup with a top three of him, Jim Pankovits, and Ernie Riles. And each of those two other guys also went on to have brief stints with the Red Sox. And I'd named their team the "Denver Rockies."
