21 Questions

Sigh. Kevin Millar hits 3 home runs in a bid for redemption, tie game, top of the 9th, and nothing doing. Why couldn't Tek hit a sac fly? Why do the Sox mock us by putting runners in scoring position and not bringing them home? Why must life be so hard? Why must I fail at every attempt at masonry?

Foulke v. Rivera, Rivera wins this round. It's really hard, somehow, to hate Rivera. He's just really good at what he does. That cut fastball - everyone in MLB knows it's coming, and somehow they can't hit it. No BS. No "intangibles" or clutch pitching. No showboating. He comes in, everyone goes home. It's frustrating, but it's not hateful. As for Foulke... why does Foulke always seem to have his best stuff after blowing a save or giving up the lead? Couldn't he, like, bring it on earlier?

It is great to see a Sox Fan in Singapore! Not sure your ethnicity but will say Selemat Datang, Vannakam, or Ni Hao. Been to SG many times...Anyways onto business, we need a blowout game against these MFY's. In these close matchups the Sox seem to lose confidence and crumble. They look alot like the Sox of 2002. They played .500 ball from interleague play to the rest of the season. The pitching staff that year was carried by Lowe and Pedro. This year it looks like Schilling and Pedro are getting the job done. Wake has been hit or miss. Arroyo has been doing well but errors or the bullpen cost him games. And when Lowe gets into a hole, it turns into blowout! They get alot of hits during the game but none of the clutch or timely hits. I say forgot about the Yanks. The wildcard race is so tight that anyteam with the drive can grab it and run! Lets hope that this crushing loss is there rockbottom and can gear a turn around!

Hi, I'm a Sox fan from Singapore too. Actually I saw u post before on the game threads in SOSH, and just happened to see your link. Just curious because I seldom hear of any sox fans in SIngapore. Walk down the street, and most cap wearers are donning MFY caps.

Thanks for the support! All the Sox supporters I know in Singapore have some Boston connection - went to school there, worked there, etc. Then there are all the people who wear MFY caps because... well, Lord knows why, I'm not sure some of them would even know what a double play is. I love New York. I just hate that team.
